A research project conducted by Dr. Nafeesa Noordeen and Dr. Dilrini De Silva.
Personalised medicine is the tailoring of medical treatment to the individual characteristics of each patient. Genetic diagnostic testing is a vital component of personalised medicine, and has been shown to improve patient outcomes and minimise patient risk. The aim of our project is to gain a better understanding of the enablers and barriers in carrying out genetic testing in Sri Lanka. This research will allow us to further improve our genetic diagnostic capabilities and pave the way for implementing personalised medicine in the country.
