1. We want to know what is polluting our ocean – specially about plastic litter.
Even though Sri Lanka is considered one of the top contributors to dump mismanaged plastic waste to the ocean on a global scale, we are still not aware about the types of plastic litter that ends up in the ocean and who is responsible for it. We are beginning to tackle this problem and are seeking partnerships to study further on this matter.

2. We are studying the health of fish living in polluted reefs.
We know that reef fish around Sri Lanka are highly threatened from intense human activities. Our ongoing studies are using clown fish as an indicator species of fish health and looking to understand how they respond to changing oceans. |
